"Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation." Mark 16:15 The more natural disasters that occur, the more traumatizing events that occur, the more this whole world seems to be crumbling... the more my eagerness grows to join the military and be sent off into the world so I can somehow, someway make an impact on the people of our nation. I've been holding this feeling deep inside of me, until today. I feel like I need to share it. Lately I've been thinking that being in the military is the only way that I, personally, can help. But it's not. And what about all of the other people who aren't enlisted? In this sad and hurting world, there's something we can all unite to do - pray. Prayer is powerful when it comes from a humble heart. And prayer coming from a heart of faith can truly move mountains (Matthew 17:20). It's hard to grow your faith in your comfort zone, though. I understand. Just think of all the police officers and authority officials from the Las Vegas shooting. They so easily and so bravely put their own lives on the line so that others might be able to keep theres. I believe it's easier said than done to do, but it happens at ease when deep down you know it's not only the right thing to do and to put others before yourself, but you know this is not our world and we are called to something greater than ourselves. Humankind is made for eternity but trapped in time, and time is running out. Through all of the hurricanes and earthquakes, heartache and disappointments, anger and frustrations... there is hope. That hope can be found in Jesus Christ. I believe every person needs to know that they are not only saved, but that we are called to live a life of purpose. I am blown away that my God, who could fix this all by himself, would choose to let me be a little part of it, too. And not just me. But you, too. My passions are shifting towards being able to go out into this hurting world, and be a light in all the darkness. I want to save lives. I want to protect lives. If it means giving up and sacrificing my own so that others can have a last chance at getting to know Jesus before their time has run out, then it's a sacrifice I'm willing to take.
1 John 3:16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
I know I have a home in eternity waiting for me. And so do you. Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
