What is weighing heavily on your heart?
Are you experiencing lack of motivation, sickness in your body, or simply just don't mentally feel right?
When you become more consumed with the world, and less consumed with God, your vision can become limited and you may easily lost sight of the finish line. You lost sight of the bigger picture and it slowly becomes more difficult to overcome certain barriers that may approach you in life.
Feeding our spirits with Gods' word is vital to not only grow, but maintain the well-being of our spirits. Chances are, when we become so filled up with the world, our sight is focused on the little things around us rather than Gods ultimate perspective. We need to to take the time to feed our spirits with His word and what He says about the world. His word is truth. His words is alive. His word is essential for our lives.
"For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12
Our perspectives will change drastically when instead of waking up and saying, "Let's see what I can do today," we wake up and say, "Let's see what God is going to do today." When your focus changes from the problem to the One who is your solution- that's when blessing start to overflow. When we try to accomplish all God has planned for us on our own strength and knowledge, we can only go so far before growing weak, weary, or our spirits grow dim. But when we rely on God every day to what we ultimately can not do, He will supply us with the strength, perseverance and endurance we desire to accomplish all He has called us to do. It's not an abnormal occasion where Gods dreams for us come a "size too big." It allows us to grow into those dreams an gives us the opportunity to increase our faith and trust in God. Gods dreams are bigger than our own. And evidently, it is shown to us through blessings and miracles that His ideas for us are bigger and better than we could ever image or comprehend. He has the ultimate perspective.
Proverbs 4:23 tells us, "Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life." When our hearts need healing, it's sometimes not as evident as we would think. It usually takes a little bit of an internal investigation to pinpoint the exact cause as to why our spirits, hearts and minds don't seem aligned. Something just "feels off." For me personally, whenever something doesn't feel right, I resort to praying about it and asking God to reveal to me what part of my heart needs His spirit in order to be mended. I ask that He would reveal His wisdom and His own perspective to me. And no matter how hard it may be at the time, no matter the situation, I always pray, "Lord, may your will have it's way." Because even I'm enjoying something in the moment, and I know it may be spiritually damaging in the end or even just a distraction from the end goal, I'd rather have God lead me where He wants me to be and be involved around the people He wants in my life rather than consuming my time into something that isn't going to help me grow, achieve my goals, or push me towards the finish line. What God want to do in your life is far too important to allow it be sabotaged or ruled by a wounded spirit. But a right spirit will open doors of opportunity for you. This is why it so important that we guard our hearts. When our hearts, minds, and spirits are aligned are positively/spiritually being fed, the more near we are to reaching our next victory. The closer you pay attention to what goes on around you and what God is trying to tell you, the easier your focus will be turned to what the exact dilemma is that is bringing your spirit down. Once you can identify this block-way, you can determine how it's damaging to your spirit and what parts of your heart need healing in the time being. It will then be between you and God to tackle that block-way together.
Time after time, I've noticed that before every huge blessing in my life, there was a major downfall. Or a down season for that matter. The more you go and grow through your spiritual journey, the easier it will be for you to look back at all the battles you've overcome in order to persevere through the next. The enemy likes to distract us and blur our vision to try and take us further away from Gods plans. And remember, the enemy can hear our prayers, too. He knows how to reach our breaking points, what tempts us, and what can ultimately distract us at any point in time. Sometimes his distraction come with an appearance as everything we've ever wanted. When the enemy sends these distraction our way, that's a way on it's own to predetermine that something great is on the road ahead. If you weren't a person of VALUE, the enemy wouldn't be fighting you so hard. You obviously have a major call on your life, and he knows it, too. So in these times, and all the time, use this as your motivation. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take." Fix your eyes on Jesus, his love and his truth. He will walk with you. He will never leave your side. If you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you.
"So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trails for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold- though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trails, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world." 1 Peter 1:6
All I can really summarize this out to be, is that no matter trials you face, no matter heartbreaks and no matter how many times you feel like giving up... hold on tight. God doesn't call us to be comfortable. He calls us to trust him so completely that we are unafraid to put ourselves in situations where will be in trouble if He doesn't come through. Easier said than done; however, Gods got you and He is going to use every single moment in your life to lead up to a spectacular grand finale. God is using all of your experiences, both good and bad, to develop your character to match your calling. Put your faith to the test and take that leap into what He is calling you to do! God is calling you, equipping you and preparing you according to His purpose. He has never left you, never failed you, and He isn't gonna start today. One day you're going to look back, after God has more than exceeded your expectations, and you're going to think, "Wow. This is better than what I prayed for." After being faithful, honorable, and holding on to his truth, God will show out in your life. He will lead you right where you need to be. God is going to do something amazing in your life. So don't grow weary when your heart is hurting or times are tough; God is not finished with you yet!
"In all things God works for the good of those who love Him..." Romans 8:28
A blessed life with God isn't a trouble-free life, but amid the changing seasons, the ups and downs of this life, we can live with a revelation that God is good and we are blessed. Even in the middle of a challenge or trial, you have access to God's blessings. Remember, people who fall the hardest bounces back the highest when God is involved.
Don't underestimate the amazing things God has placed in you and what they can become when they spring up. Remember as Christians, we walk by faith, not by what we see. You won't accomplish all God has in store for you until you start trusting Him with all you have. But as you live in faith and obedience, except new roads of opportunity, new possibilities, unusual miracles, new horizons, places yet untouched. I believe God is opening up new heights from where you will have an amazing perspective. When you can conceive and believe, you can achieve. When you depend on God continuously, your whole perspective changes. You see miracles happening all around while others only see natural occurrences or "coincidences." You begin each day with joyful expectation; the first thoughts in your head being "God thank you for this day" You become excited to see what He will do in your every friendships, relationships, circumstances, and overall purpose in life. A lot can happen when you finally let go of the wheel and say, "Jesus lead the way." You accept weaknesses as a gift, knowing that His power plays a role in conquering and overcoming those weaknesses. You will keep your plans tentative, knowing His plans are far more superior. You consciously live, move, and give your whole self to Him, desiring that His Holy Spirit thrives and lives in you. I in you, and you in me. This is the intimate, amazing, beautiful, never-ending, life-changing adventure He can offer you. It has been for me.
What do you believe Him for in this new year? Can you see it in your heart and in your mind? God has got it. You can trust Him. Are you going to release your faith and take hold of His promises for your life? Do not remember the disappointments, the heartaches, the regrets or losses of the past. It's far too easy to allow sentiment to erode your significance. Significance is about the future and all that is ahead, but sentiment is about the former things. If you are the kind of person who looks back, remember your significance is in what is ahead of you, not what is behind you. God says He is going to do a new thing for you. Those who leave everything in God's hands will eventually see Gods hands in everything.
And lastly, if you are reading this, may God remove your pain, worries and problems and replace them with health, happiness and peace.
xoxo,
Faith
